If sysidconfig runs late enough during boot, we could insert a service before it that compiles a bunch of files in a special directory together into /etc/.sysidconfig.apps. That would be the simple way of doing it.
Better would be to enhance SMF to have methods specifically for this purpose, which is something Stephen has mentioned before, I believe. But that would take more work and time we don't necessarily have.
