Has anyone been able to successfully install IPS packages on OpenSolaris (I
have RC2a)
from the blastwave repository? I found instructions on how to add additional
repositories and after I added both blastwave and sunfreeware repositories and
restarted packagemanager, the new repositories showed up. Selecting them shows
a
reasonable looking list of packages. Most of the time when I try to install a
package from blastwave, the download gets part way through and then just stops.
The opensolaris.org and sunfreeware repositories seem to work fine so far.

One thing I noticed was that in some cases the list of dependencies had
duplicates.
In particular, IPScommon was repeated many times in the list of dependencies for
IPSemacs, which didn't seem right. I then tried installing packages one at a
time
from the dependency list and managed to get the following IPS packages installed
from the Blastwave repository:

   IPScommon
   IPSexpat
   IPSggettext
   IPSiconv
   IPSsunmath

If I now look at the dependencies for IPSglib, I see a long list including
IPSgtk2, IPSpango, IPSlibcairo, etc. It seems to me that these are not
dependencies
of IPSglib but rather packages that depend on IPSglib.

When I try to install IPSglib now, the Install/Upgrade Check window comes up and
says it is checking package dependencies but it never finishes. Showing
details reveals
that it is evaluating packages over and over. I see it evaluating IPScommon
repeatedly.
Could there be a dependency cycle?
