Support of pkg is in the works but I think that for the guys t finish  
that, a bit more of pkg specs have to be
decided upon.

the run-time detection of number of CPUs is done to be able to tell  
gnu make how many
paralell compiles it can do. Besides that I don't see the resemblance  
of pkgsrc.
