The webrev http://cr.opensolaris.org/~padraig/ips-5263-v1/ fixes 5263 UMN notification icon inconsistent behavior.
The change is to continue to check for updates even when the notification icon is displayed and to remove the icon if no updates are found. The interval, Daily, Weekly, Monthly at which the check is made remains the same. This addresses the situation where the icon is displayed but the user updated his system other than by clicking on the icon.
