  Even with SHA-1, you and I will be long dead before we have a genuine
  collision.  I'm not even sure we've collided in the 32 bits of prefix
  used in /var/pkg/repo/file yet, and there's 96 bits past that.
  There's lots of literature on this, if you're curious.

  Of course, we'll fix

  and move to SHA-256 or larger long before our respective departures.
