The translation rules for displaying package names in the packagemanager
GUI seem a little
counterintuitive in one particular aspect. Can someone explain the
rationale to me?

The rules state:
FMRI: network/utility/pidgin
PM: pidgin
FMRI: network/pidgin
PM: network/pidgin
If the goal is to save space, the perhaps non-special names should be
limited to showing
the last two items? Or the first and last item? But it seems that
2-part names and N-part
names should be treated more similarly.
