Folks,
With Ed's help, I managed to get to the bottom of why the client was
failing progress tracking asserts at the end of a download. Part of the
problem is in libcurl, and the other part is a bug in our code.

This fixes our half of the problem, and prevents the assertion from
failing. I need to work out a patch to libcurl to fix their data
corruption problem.
