I know at least that our company uses a content filter somewhere on the proxy that sometimes has some unfriendly side effects (blocks sometimes legal content such as a couple of source code archives on sf.net). Perhaps that's the cause. Would it help to rsync pkg.opensolaris.org/dev according to [1] from, say, a machine at my home that has direct Internet access, and copy these files to the machine?
