First thing is that it was rather slow (see timings for different phases). Then the output is rather strange - no new packages found byt 3 actions in the removal phase... ???



Hmmmm.

Could you provide the output of pkg publisher?  Do you have entire
installed from pkg.opensolaris.org?

What happened here is that virtualbox/kernel is now obsolete and was
thus deleted from your system. I'm not sure why this took so long, though.

Yeah, virtualbox/kernel -> none, I must have been blind...
However it could be more helpful if the time it took to complete each phase was in a separate line with a little bit more description. Then maybe it should be shown only for -vv and not with -v...


I also tried to image-update from 128a to 129 and:
