We've provisioned a second server group at a different site in North
America, with release/, dev/, and contrib/ available under

  http://pkg-na-2.opensolaris.org/

  For instance, you can use

  # pkg set-publisher -m http://pkg-na-2.opensolaris.org/dev opensolaris.org

to add this second location as a content mirror for the dev/
repository. On the current dev/ branch, you can use -g to add this
repository as an additional origin for the opensolaris.org publisher.
A content mirror provides only package data, while an origin can
provide both package data and metadata (such as a catalog).

In Package Manager, this functionality is available via the "File >
Manage Publishers" dialog. You add a mirror by selecting a publisher,
selecting Modify, and then selecting a repository in the resulting
"Modify Publisher" dialog, and then adding a mirror.

(If you're curious to see the effect of adding a mirror or second
origin, then you can set PKG_DUMP_STATS to 1 in your environment,
prior to running a "pkg install" or "pkg image-update". We'd be
interested in seeing the statistics output, if you're able to share.)

  Happy downloading.
