first off, lists @opensolaris.org are about OpenSolaris (post Solaris 10)
(and later?), NOT about Solaris 8.
Next, this specific list is about the IPS packaging system, not about
generic questions on OpenSolaris - that's what opensolaris-disc...@.. would
be for.
I'd suggest you find the people who make (made?) the piece of software
you're looking for (perhaps google can help you there) and ask them,
experience shows that that gets you there faster.
