I understand that. However, OEMs are familiar with a particular process and
that process results in the creation of SVr4 packages right now. That's a gap
that we failed to identify, but one that needs to be addressed for OEMs to be
able to provide driver updates as they have for S10.

The man page for pkgrecv shows how to create a package archive, and I'm
certain this will be touched on in the Guide that Bart is currently
working on.
If they want to provide driver updates, they will have to provide a
package archive or a package repository. Those are the only viable options.
