Good Afternoon All,

As Solaris 11 approaches I've been thinking about how IPS will work for large environments and I'm sure you've done the same over the past years.

What I'm curious about is if you have any timings since I'm told parallel patching is not available. I know that it will vary on many many factors but lets assume they have 45 zones with group/system/solaris-large-server installed on say an M9000 domain which has 8 VII+ CPU's (128 threads I think) and 256GB of RAM.

I'm referring to a pkg update in the global and I'm not going to hold anyone to the figures, I'm just interested in hearing how long it will take compared to S10 for my own knowledge.

Appreciate your time,
Mark
