Yes, you can. This is the whole purpose of this field. Usually you would only need to set the CN to the hostname, subjectAltName allows you to define multiple hostnames. And in general: This is not a pkg issue. It's all OpenSSL/Apache configuration. In the worst case there is a bug in curl, which I don't believe.
