In this case "optional" is a specific keyword to use for the type.
"If the value is incorporate, then the depen-
dency is * optional*, but the version of the
dependent package is constrained. See "Con-
straints and Freezing" below."
In that case "optional" is used as a plain english word, meaning that
the package listed in this dependency is not required to be installed,
and is not a reference to the "optional" keyword for the type value
(which was a later addition to the type system, and may thus have
introduced some confusion to the documentation).
