Is there a way of producing a report of all the packages installed on a system and the date/time each package was installed or last updated?
Yes, but it will require some scripting to parse the output of the "pkg history" subcommand.
I have not found a way of doing this with the pkg command. Is the date/time of a package installation or update recorded anywhere ?
"pkg history -l" will give you the information you seek, but there currently are no convenient options for outputting the information in a format that's easily parsable.
There are enhancements planned for the history subcommand to make this information more easily accessible for auditing purposes.
