If this is for the project I think it is (the one we recently held PSARC
inception review for and discussed IPS integration as part of the review),
I wonder why it needs to be C - it seems your proposed command could just
as easily (possibly more easily) be implemented in python. That would at
least move you from non-existent API to volatile API - still on shaky ground
and needing to stay in sync with the still rapidly-evolving IPS, but at least
offering the possibility of progress without waiting for someone to create
some new rad C API for IPS first.
But like the others who responded, I'm just making educated guesses about
your use case, for which details are still necessary for more useful advice.
