Package: evolution
Version: 3.18.0-2
Dear maintainers,
When using autologin in GDM, evolution does not seem to be able to use
Gnome keyring (wich is not unlocked at login regarding /etc/pam.d/gdm-
autologin):
Each time Evolution needs a password, it waits approximately 30 seconds
before asking it. I suppose it waits for a Gnome keyring answer that
never comes, and then after a timeout asks for the credentials.
After typing the password, evolution outputs the following in terminal:
(evolution:1664): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **:
credentials_prompter_store_credentials_cb: Failed to store source
credentials: Erreur lors de l'appel de StartServiceByName pour
org.freedesktop.secrets : Le délai d'attente est dépassé
In english, this should be somehting like:
(evolution:1664): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **:
credentials_prompter_store_credentials_cb: Failed to store source
credentials: Error when calling StartServiceByName for
org.freedesktop.secrets: timeout expired.
As almost all usual operations require credentials, I think Evolution
is not usable if using autologin.
This problem is probably already reported somehow in some comments of
#652870. In my case, this problem began in Evolution 3.16, when I first
began to use it.
I you think I better should report this bug upstream, and maybe on
another package, do not hesitate to tell me and I'll do.
Thanks for your time and work,
Yvan
