well -- has something to do with shogun build on your box and may be its
Matlab (khe khe) bindings

Just remove shogun altogether (unless you are using it) and then
PyMVPA should work fine, just without shogun.  Otherwise you would need
to assure correct install of shogun.  Alternatively you could use
NeuroDebian VM.
