phonefsod is not a daemon talking to mobile phones, but a daemon, which is supposed to run *on* mobile phones and it has some quite agressive power management. On a smartphone you do not want to wakeup reenable the display for some input events, so normal screen-saving mechanics are not enough. If you have suggestions for improvements you can contact upstream, which is currently migrating to github: https://github.com/freesmartphone > 2) MINOR - phoneui & related packages : bad description. The FSO and SHR software stack is supposed to run *on* a mobile phone. Some phones, like the Openmoko Freerunner or the Nokia N900 are capable of running Debian on them and these packages provide some basic phone capabilities. > Did I post it to the right place ? Depends on your objective. This mailinglist is about the packaging of the FreeSmartPhone.org (FSO) and SHR software suites for Debian. -- Sebastian
