Might be related to libtiff only using LERC on little endian architectures.

The compression for that test is JPEG.
I'm pretty sure that the test is broken on BE architectures.
Indeed IMHO the order in which channels are written should reflect what
the read function used (TIFFReadRGBAImageOriented) expects.
I will dig into it a little more tomorrow.
