The test-build-validate-cleanup CI job is not as good as the test-build- twice
job that was used before the pipeline switched to sbuild.
This job is not as tolerant of generated files being removed as dpkg is.
I've been dropping this job from packages were this happens (postgis where
autotools related files get removed), consider doing the same for this package.
Here the issue is with egg-info files being modified.
Which dpkg tolerates because of extend-diff-ignore in the source options.
dpkg tolerates removal of autotools generated files by default, this new CI job
has no tolerance whatsoever.
I think that it can be fixed with the switch to the github sources, but we need
to wait for the next upstream release to finalize the change.
You could also change the upstream tarball in a +ds release.
I Hope it is not a big issue for you having a red dot in CI :)
That doesn't really bother me, the IRC notifications were more visible.
I do not remember why I used PyPI at the beginning.
Normally I tend to prefer getting sources form github in any case.
I suspect there weren't any tagged releases at that time, or may be just copied
the debian directory from one of those packages.
Kind Regards,
Bas
