--- Begin Message ---Package: xmonad Version: 0.12-5+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, Using xmonad and xmobar in xmonad workspace 1 puts xmobar in background. When no program is running xmobar is visible, when program windows are open in workspace 1, they take up all the wrokspace no mather which layout, and makes it impossible to see and use xmobar. However, other workspaces work fine. Using several configuration files or none (default configurations) doesn't fix up the issue. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages xmonad depends on: ii libc6 2.24-8 ii libffi6 3.2.1-6 ii libgmp10 2:6.1.2+dfsg-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.4-2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.3-1+b1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.1-1 ii x11-utils 7.7+3 Versions of packages xmonad recommends: ii libghc-xmonad-dev 0.12-5+b1 ii libghc-xmonad-doc 0.12-5 ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.4+nmu1 Versions of packages xmonad suggests: pn gnome-session-flashback <none> ii suckless-tools [dmenu] 42-2 -- no debconf information

See also this[1] bug report, which indicates that the above behavior has re-appeared in the latest version of xmonad (v0.13, not available on Debian yet). [1] https://github.com/jaor/xmobar/issues/294 Since upstream seems to believe that this is not a bug, and the work-around is properly documented on the docs, I am going to close this bug report. Feel free to re-open it if you think otherwise. Best, -- Ilias
