The package is basically unmaintained and the original uploaders are all MIA. The remaining people just try to fix the most important bugs because it seems there are users who still use our package. I had a look at the latest version but it appears they don't support Solr as a war file anymore. [1] That means they embed the webserver now. So intrusive changes incoming. Probably we also need to package a couple of new dependencies as usual. In short: We have not enough contributors to upgrade every application and library to the latest upstream release immediately, because we spend 80% and more of our time to fix security issues, build failures and build systems, e.g. Java 9 [2] or Java 10 [3] bugs.
