If I recall correctly this was a bug in OpenJDK 9 and changing the compile target wouldn't change the outcome. I can recompile the package with OpenJDK 10 now which should address this issue. However Ubuntu users have to wait until the release of 18.10 or install the latest version of libpdfbox2-java manually. Markus
