I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve. libbcprov-java-doc is not a build-dependency, so it should not be installed when you build libpdfbox2-java but it also should not have any effect at all if it exists. The dpkg --search commands are not fatal. If I recall correctly, only some links in the java documentation will be missing. But the implementation is not very efficient at the moment and I assume it could be improved. See also maven-debian-helper bug https://bugs.debian.org/871669
