Package: eclipse-sdk Version: 3.1.1-3 Severity: normal (Note: I'm not sure if I should report this against sablevm or eclipse.)
I just noticed that eclipse was finally added to debian (yay!) and went ahead to test it. After "sudo apt-get install eclipse-sdk" I tried to run "eclipse" as a normal user and got the following output searching for compatible vm... testing /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj...not found testing /usr/lib/kaffe/pthreads...not found testing /usr/lib/sablevm...found sablevm: INTERNAL ERROR (source file "invoke_interface.c", function "AttachCurrentThread", line 497): todo Eclipse first opened a dialog and asked for workspace location. After that it spent a minute or two drawing some sort of progress bar and then finally sablevm printed that "INTERNAL ERROR" text and eclipse showed a dialog with JVM terminated. Could sablevm be removed from /etc/eclipse/java_home until debian has at least sablevm 1.12? -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.29sauna Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages eclipse-sdk depends on: di eclipse-jdt 3.1.1-3 Java Development Tools plug-ins fo di eclipse-pde 3.1.1-3 Plug-in Development Environment to eclipse-sdk recommends no packages. -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ pkg-java-maintainers mailing list pkg-java-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers
