Package: sun-java6-jre Version: 6.20-dlj Debian Release: squeeze
When I try to install any Java library, dpkg suggests to install gcj environment packages, while sun-java6-jre package should be enough. Expected: liblog4j1.2-java is installed without other dependencies. The same result with other simple Java packages like libjaxp1.3-java. # dpkg -l | grep sun ii sun-java6-bin 6.20-dlj-1 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (architecture depende ii sun-java6-jre 6.20-dlj-1 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (architecture indepen # dpkg-query -W -f='${Package;-20} ${Version;-8} ${Provides}\n' sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jre 6.20-dlj java-runtime, java-runtime-headless, java-virtual-machine, java2-runtime, java2-runtime-headless, java5-runtime, java5-runtime-headless, java6-runtime, java6-runtime-headless # apt-get install liblog4j1.2-java Reading package lists...
