Hello! I would like to backport Qt 6 to bullseye, and I want to put this effort into consideration to the list before proceeding.
Currently Debian bullseye lacks Qt 6. My plan is to maintain a backport for bullseye for as long as required. This means: - The (as of now) 29 source packages that compose Qt 6 <https://qt-kde-team.pages.debian.net/images/qt6_build_deps.png> - A backport of libassimp, for which I contacted IOhannes to ask for permission before (CCed). So far I have been able to build the whole stack for Qt 6.2.2 without any issues. There are two things I would like to make clear from the beginning: 1) Qt 6 does provides private headers, they are needed in order to avoid building all the source code in one go. As bullseye does not has Qt 6 there are currently no packages making use if them, but I can't tell if another developer will upload a package making use of them. 2) I'm making the commitment to maintain the packaging by myself as an individual, but the work is being sponsored by The Qt Company by means of my employer ICS. Thoughts? Kinds regards, Lisandro. -- Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer https://perezmeyer.com.ar/ -- https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-talk
