Hi Steve! I'm writing you because you said you wanted to maintain digikam. The last active maintainers where Pino Toscano and Mark Purcell. I think digikam is currently maintained on svn, if that's still the case and you want to switch to git you are free to do so. We have some scripts on alioth to properly setup those repos, please ping us (or me directly) on irc on #debian-kde I'll be happy to help as much as possible.
