Yeah, we should address this somehow. The dpkg approach might not be
optimal, but at least it doesn't overwrite the file on updates.

I guess I am guilty of complicating that issue.

Let's just use a plain simple dpkg conffile. I feel that my time is better spent on other things piling up :-/
