Recommend iceweasel and only fallback on virtual www-browser, and
drop superfluous fallback on firefox.

The firefox fallback is useful on Ubuntu systems. As it is harmless in debian, I suggest keeping it to avoid Ubuntu/Debian diffs.

I develop package for a distribution called Debian.

Various members of this team care for both distros, and I'd like this team to be open for any Ubuntu Member or Developer as well. We even carry ubuntu branches here.

I care for Debian, which implies that I care for users of Debian.

Ubuntu and other derivatives are users of Debian, and I care for them!

I am open to contributions from any and all Debian derivative. Ideally all Debian-derived distributions would work together with us here at Alioth.

I am not, however, open to include non-Debian pieces in binary packages targeted Debian. Such pieces belong to different branches in our shared git.

I am very happy that other distributions branch off of that work, as long as not imposing their clutches/hacks/improvements/whatever on Debian. Giving back makes me extra happy - both when done by distributions and by individuals. But as this is useless to Debian and slightly clutters the package dependencies, I dislike it.

firefox might be reintroduced to debian.

If/when that happens, it makes sense to add it back. Not before.

This is my personal opinion, and if stubborn and fanatic compared to consensus in this team, I shall not hold you from imposing other styles on this or other packages - I can simply avoid packages I feel are cluttered instead of cleaning them up.

okay, then let's readd firefox in the list here.

If you consider it more important than have me do tidying for that particular package, then sure - go ahead...

Kind regards,

 - Jonas
