No. Above means "one of these two *specific* implementations are required".

When you mean "any implementation is required", then instead use this:

  libjack-dev | libjack0.100.0-dev


No. Your solution means either libjack-dev or a virtual package we are trying to phase out (libjack0.100.0-dev).

We really need to sort this out, but for now packages should just build-depend on libjack-dev.

Ok.  My main point still stands :-)
