About the HURD/kFreeBSD issue, it seems to be a linking issue, do we

yes, i think the only problem is that the Makefile thinks that it is
compiling for an unknown target os (because uname returns something
unknown), thus no CFLAGS, LDFLAGS,... are defined which means the
defaults: the .c files are compiled as applications, which obviously
won't work at all.

and yes, you should be able to use the very same flags as on linux (and see the other thread why it might be a good idea to keep pd_linux as the
filename extension for all debian)


Works for me. I have a bunch of deadlines so I won't be able to touch this for a while. That's why I just had a big rush of work: I wanted to get it in before I was saddled with lots of things.
