With the soundcard replaced against a model which also uses snd-ca0106 now and
the current
alsa driver version 1.0.24 and kernel 3.1.6 in use, the workaround for my
problem is to
disable the onboard soundcard in the system BIOS, and set the 'Devices' for
recording
under 'Edit/Preferences' to 'default'. This way it is possible to record audio
also at 48
kHz. When the recording-device is set to 'CA0106: CA0106(hw:0,0)' explicitly,
recording hangs instantly.
Another workaround is using 'ecasound' on the console for recording:
'ecasound -f:,2,48000 -i:alsahw,0,0 -o:recording/testrec.wav'
alsa debug-info is attached to this message.
