Package: mplayer2
Version: 2.0-554-gf63dbad-1+b1
Severity: important

When invoked in full-screen (-fs) mode, mplayer2 entirely fails
for me. It initially brings up a window in the video's native size,
but then unmaps that, brings up what appears to be a zero-size window,
unmaps that too, and generates some error messages while it's doing it.
It then apparently hangs: in addition to no video it produces no sound,
and doesn't advance the time in the stdout display. Full trace attached.

Version-1 mplayer (the "mplayer" package) works fine for this sort
of invocation on the same video file.

Note, initially mapping a window of the video's native size is
itself a bug, but not the bug with which this report is concerned.
Version-1 mplayer has the same bug: it briefly maps a window of the
video's native size and then replaces it with a full-screen window,
in which it successfully shows the video. This bug report is concerned
with mplayer2's failure to ultimately show the video full-screen.
