Lukas, my issue was that I couldn't build the package due to the missing dependencies. Thinking again about this, it works indeed since the package is in universe and it's a build-depends. I think my main issue here is that I don't really understand why it's a Build-Depends and not a Depends but maybe it's some perl magic (in which case I think I don't want to know more :D ).
