Afaiui PhotoTools is loosely integrated, sharing a GIT name space and
mailing list and having somebody step in when things really go downhill.
So I would suggest trying to coordinate with the uploaders of the
respective packages (I suspect hpfn is inactive, though) before making
disruptive changes to the GIT repository.
