Ok many thanks again. >> I have also starting to look at the other jpeg2000 tools that could be >> added to the -tools package but i am again hesitant to add them at >> this stage as i don't want to have a massive breakage due to build >> fails. I am out of the office for at least 2 -3 weeks so can't do much until i get back, so i will pick this up again then. In the mean time, i have been preparing a thumbnailer, for gnome, for jpeg-2000 images. It seems to be working so far. I will try to push the changes to git before i finish work but this can wait to be uploaded. So far the thumbnailer uses the j2k_to_image command to do the conversion so its included with the openjpeg-tools package and registers itsself with dh_gconf. I am finding it enormously useful already so if i can push to git at least others can play if needed. The other thing i can do with is a gimp plugin. Now i remember someone was going to do one but i have not seen any further info on this. Anyone have any further info? or even started code that needs finishing etc?
