Package: libgphoto2-2
Version: 2.4.0-9
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Today I tried to connect a Panasonic DMC-L1, a Panasonic DMC-FZ5 and
another cheap Panasonic to my box in the default 'storage device' mode
without success. The contents were accessible only in PictBridge (PTP)
mode; I'm sure that some time ago I could easily browse my FZ5's SD
simply plugging it, just like I do with any USB storage device.

Within KDE, any attempt to access system:/media/camera ended in an
"unknown error 50". I also tried to mount my camera manually, but I soon
discovered that in the /dev directory there was no device matching it.
Everything works fine - and a /dev/sdb device is created - after
removing the libgphoto2-2 and libgphoto2-port0 packages.

I believe that for some reason, due to libgphoto rules, udev doesn't
create any device file, and the system tries to access the cameras in
PTP mode even when they are set in storage device mode.

Thanks

Mau

Thanks! Using the -done address with Version pseudo-header, so that the
system knows in which version this bug was first fixed. A copy of this
message will be sent to the submitter automatically, too.
