Hi Wouter, that's a pretty vague report, so here are some questions: Did you get errors during the upgrade? (Which?) What's the output of pg_lsclusters now? What's the (non-comment) content of /etc/postgresql/9.*/main/start.conf? Is there anything in /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-9.*-main.log? If there's no real indication in the log of why 9.1 doesn't start, what does "sudo -u postgres /usr/lib/postgresql/9.1/bin/postgres -D /var/lib/postgresql/9.1/main" say?
