Fwiw, there is now this upstream PR https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/9719 specifically https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/9719/commits/a05b8f8e801016f52a867823abb19233e3e2d3d0 which should (to some extent) address this issue. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
