Package: systemd-sysv
Version: 240-1
Severity: wishlist

Hey.

Maybe I couldn't just find it, but it seems there is no central place
which describes which "legacy" packages can be removed when running
systemd... respectively which services could be (optionally) replaced
by which systemd service/subsystem.

Best example is perhaps: does one still need the packages initscripts,
sysv-rc, etc.?

Also, in earlier release notes of Debian I found for example, that it's
not recommended to run acpid with systemd(?).

One could additionally give hints like: you can replace cron with
systemd's cron ... or you could replace rsyslod/etc. with persistend
journalling by journald.

Cheers,
Chris.

I think this is pretty well covered in the release notes, see

https://salsa.debian.org/ddp-team/release-notes/commit/e9acebc7c68bd755c7e1bc031566b98180d5c8ef

Feel free to submit additions/corrections/updates to the release-notes,
if you think those changes are not satisfactory.

Regards,
Michael
