My concern is, that /var/run might *not* be a symlink to /run. It's hard to quantify, how common that is. Probably not that much, but still. I've seen setup's over the years where users had a separate tmpfs for /var/run for example. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
