I was spared the breakage, because right now I can really only do email work. But from the outside, it looks like we really outght to send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] warning people of the danger, like the X guys did.
Also, I understand anyone who installed the broken packages may have had their sysv linkfarm damaged, which requires that we either add repair code (if that can be done safely, which I bet it is not exactly trivial), or that we warn people of the issue in NEWS.Debian, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], and also tell them how to repair their systems.
