I am using since all version of debian, since several years those scripts into rc2.d /etc/rc2.d/S10rc2400 that I chmod +rx and /etc/rc2.d/S88boot chmoded too. so I upgraded to squeeze and found this important bug. Those scripts arent loaded at boot of the PC. Please it is importnat bug, coudl you fix this as soon as possible. Thank you I hope that debian testing will work better, and be more reliable as the previosu stable versions.
