Hi Sergei,
Oops! Looks like I have some versions of the Tcl libraries in
/usr/local/lib after all. Move them out of the way and it all works
fine. There's still all sorts of things I don't understand but it's
not a Debian problem, so very sorry for wasting your time. Please
cancel the bug report!
