Hrm, I meant: "requires ntfs-3g to be installed"

As additional note, option 3.) was apparently chosen by Ubuntu.

Forgot to mention option
4.) Update the in-kernel ntfs driver to support locale=. I don't know
how feasible that is an it's probably not fixable for lenny.
