Package: devicekit-disks Version: 007-1 Severity: important devicekit-disks installs a udev rules file which makes additional information available (it uses the DKD_ namespace in the udev db).
After an upgrade from previous versions or a fresh install, this information is outdated or missing which can lead to unexpected results, e.g. I noticed that in palimpsest an extended partition was not correctly shown and it showed incorrect values for remaining space on the disk. An easy solution is to reboot, we would like though to have it working ootb without the need to reboot. Another possibility could be to run "udevadm trigger" in postinst. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (300, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31.1 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages devicekit-disks depends on: ii libatasmart4 0.15-3 ATA S.M.A.R.T. reading and parsing ii libc6 2.9-26 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.82-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdevmapper1.02. 2:1.02.37-1 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.0-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgudev-1.0-0 146-3 GObject-based wrapper library for ii libparted1.8-12 1.8.8.git.2009.07.19-5 The GNU Parted disk partitioning s ii libpolkit-backend 0.94-1 PolicyKit backend API ii libpolkit-gobject 0.94-1 PolicyKit Authorization API ii libsgutils2-2 1.27-1 utilities for working with generic ii libudev0 146-3 libudev shared library devicekit-disks recommends no packages. devicekit-disks suggests no packages. -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ Pkg-utopia-maintainers mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-utopia-maintainers
