when the network-manager is running i can't setup my wireless configuration
with ifup/down. I must stop network-manager daemon (/etc/init.d) to have 
internet access. :(

No, it does not connect to "some" network, only for networks where you have
created a connection.
If you don't want nm to manage device, use the mnaged=false mode.
